Year end banquet 2011

Words from President Guy Audet -

"I would like to thank all the volunteers who pitched in with setting up the hall and working the kitchen (we had lots of delicious food) and then cleaning up. Many hands made light work and I and the executive thank you. Most of all I want to thank the outgoing executive members for their years of hard work! Linda Sluiman, Patti Peever and Ron McNeil."

Gordon Bilson Award 2011

The Gord Bilson Award is handed out to a person involved with UOV that
displays their love for ringette and volunteers their time to the association.

This year we honoured the memory of Donnie Robertson. Donnie lost his battle with
cancer in 2010. He showed a great love for ringette.  He was, for MANY years, the
driver of our float in the annual Santa Claus Parade in Renfrew.  He always made
his truck and wagon available every year and enjoyed seeing the smiles on the players
faces during the parade.

The Award was presented to his sister, Janet Robertson, by Guy Audet and Jeff Millar.

John Yates Memorial Tropy 2011

The John Yates Memorial trophy is handed out to a deserving player displaying  sportsmanship on the Novice C team.  The recipent for 2010-2011 was  Jamie Broome.

Thank you to Sylvia Pudsey and her daughter Virginia Yates for their continued
support in sponsoring this trophy in memory of a husband and father.

Bonnie Keefe  was camped out in front of the Renfrew Metro grocery store this weekend, November 28 - 29th.  She was there for 3 days hoping to raise money and food for the Renfrew Food Bank.  They are always short this time of year.
Mark  gathered a few girls from the team Sunday afternoon  and they went door to door collecting food donations.
They collected 2 and a half grocery carts of food and donated $60.00 from their team fund. Pictures from Carolyn Doucette.
